Set within the quiet hilltop landscape of Aburi, Hill House was conceived as a sanctuary of calm—an interior environment where architecture, craft, and materiality come together in quiet harmony. The client envisioned a residence that felt deeply serene while honoring the tactile beauty of local craftsmanship. Drawing from the restrained elegance of mid-century modern design, the interiors were shaped through warm wood tones, soft earth palettes, and gently curved forms that create a sense of continuity and ease throughout the home’s expansive 8,000sqft (734 sqm) footprint.
The spatial composition emphasizes openness and grounded comfort, where low-profile furnishings, woven textures, and sculptural wooden elements establish a calm visual rhythm. Natural woven carpets anchor gathering areas, while raffia, rattan, linen, and stone introduce layers of tactile warmth. Light limewash walls diffuse daylight softly across the interiors, creating a subtle luminosity that allows the material palette to speak with quiet confidence.
The result is a home that feels both contemporary and rooted—an environment where craftsmanship, natural materials, and thoughtful restraint cultivate an atmosphere of stillness. Hill House offers a spatial experience that invites pause, reflection, and connection, allowing the architecture to hold space for everyday life with grace and quiet presence.
